United We Stand

Festival Announcement

South Georgia Pride is pleased to present plans for the 2026 South Georgia Pride Festival! This year, the Festival will be held in Unity Park in downtown Valdosta on October 3, 2026 from 2pm-7pm.

This year’s theme, UNITED WE STAND, honors our nation’s 250th Anniversary while reflecting the heart of our Pride community.

At a time when connection and community matter more than ever, this theme serves as a reminder that our strength comes in standing together. As a community, we must continue to uplift, protect, and support one another.

Since 2010, South Georgia Pride has proudly hosted our annual festival during the third week of September at John W. Saunders Park on River Street. Those years built the foundation of the vibrant celebration we know today. While we’re excited to introduce everyone to a new day and park, we will not forget our roots. We are also planning meaningful ways to honor our original River Street home during our traditional festival week.

We can’t wait to celebrate and stand United in Pride with you! Stay tuned for vendor applications, entertainer announcements, and more exciting updates coming soon!

Our mission is for charitable purposes benefiting the rights, equality, and general well being of the LGBT community in the South Georgia area.  It was formed in 2008 as Valdosta Diversity Pride, part of the Valdosta State University Gay-Straight Alliance.

Our History

It was decided in 2009 that Valdosta Diversity Pride would become an independent organization from the VSU campus.  The first Pride festival had good sponsorship, but was met with limited success.

2012 featured the most successful pride to date.  Entertainers and spokespeople from across the country graced the amphitheater of Saunders Park.  Strong support from not only the Valdosta Community, but also Atlanta, Jacksonville, Gainesville and other cities raised attendance to over 2000 people!
